Current State Audit Report
Every two years, East County Fire and Rescue (ECFR) is required to undergo a local government audit, performed by the Washington State Auditor's Office (SAO). This audit pertains to the previous two years, and includes both an accountability audit and a financial audit.
The accountability audit evaluates whether East County has complied with applicable laws and regulations, as well as its own policies and procedures. ECFR's records are audited to ensure public funds are account for and adequate controls are in place to protect public resources.
The financial audit provides an independent opinion on ECFR's financial statements, operations, and cash flows to determine whether those statements present a reliable and accurate picture of a government's finances.
