Two men stand outside a red fire truck in a smoky area, with a misty background and another fire vehicle visible.

What do you do with a fire engine when it’s reached the end of its useful life at your station and no other agency is interested in purchasing it?

You donate it and give it a chance at a second life!

Yesterday, ECFR Captain John Prasch delivered one of our surplus fire engines to the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters as a donation.

Rather than simply disposing of the engine, ECFR was pleased to donate it in hopes that it can continue serving others. The engine is expected to be shipped to South America, where it may one day find a new home in their fire service.

We’re proud to make this donation and hope that an engine that served our community for many years will have the opportunity to serve another!
